I think being upset over “losing” (and I use that term loosely, because “you” didn’t lose, the team that happens to play for our state lost) is silly. It’s like saying “I’m mad at you for being better than I am.” I’ll never understand the intense feelings people can get toward a team that just happens to play for the state in which you live.
I have also been unable to find an “equivalent” type of setup regarding the kinds of things I’m into or care about. Eh. To each their own. Don’t spite the other team just because they happened to play a better game than we did, though.
I’m not upset per se. It’s just that I can’t gloat to my New York friends about how we have the best team in football and that they should have just stayed in Boston.
